Angie began dancing at the age of five. She started student teaching for Polly Pennington at the age of 14 and soon became an assistant for Polly. Because of her love of teaching she opened her own studio in 1965 and has been actively teaching ever since. Angie continues to keep up with current dance styles by attending various workshops. She is an active member of The Omaha Dance Teachers Association where she has held the positions of president and secretary.
Paula is Miss Angie’s daughter and the associate director of the studio. She has been dancing since age three and student teaching since she was fourteen. Paula continues to teach at the studio as well as attend local dance workshops as part of her continuing dance education. She is a member of the Omaha Dance Teachers Association where she has served as president and treasurer.
Michelle is the oldest daughter of Angie. Michelle is the Assistant to the Principal/Dance Director at Marian High School. She has choreographed over 40 musical productions at Marian and coached Marian’s Dance Team for over 30 years. Michelle has worked at the family owned business since she was twelve years old. She assisted classes and continues to attend dance conventions. Michelle is a member of the Omaha Dance Teachers Association.
Emily Zabawa Shalgren
Emily is Miss Angie's granddaughter and Miss Paula's oldest daughter. She has been dancing at Angie's for 25 years and began student teaching as a freshman in high school. Emily teaches all of our leaps and turn classes.. After high school she continued her dance education through dance classes at the University of Nebraska Omaha and many workshops around the city.
Annette Thomas, Lisa Finocchiaro, and Carla Martin, also Angie's daughters, help out in the studio as substitute teachers, and also help run the back stage at recital time.
